danang.bike is an AI mobility concierge that helps international riders rent motorbikes in Vietnam legally and safely. We believe in handling as little of your data as possible. This notice explains what we collect, why, where it goes, and how to remove it. It is written in plain language and is not legal advice.

What we collect

When you chat with our assistant (Kai) on our website or WhatsApp, we process: the messages you send; the country that issued your licence and whether you hold a 1968 International Driving Permit (to check what you can legally ride); the bike, dates and trip details you choose; and an opaque session identifier. On WhatsApp, your phone number is pseudonymised (one-way hashed) before it is stored, so our database does not hold your raw number.

In the current pre-launch phase we do not ask for your passport, hold any document as a deposit, or take any payment. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Why we use it

Solely to help you: to check your legal eligibility, recommend a suitable bike at an honest all-in price, and (pre-launch) record a priority reservation that a human coordinator confirms with you. We do not use your data for advertising profiling, and we never sell your data.

Where it is processed (international transfers)

To run the assistant and the chat, your messages are processed by service providers whose servers are located outside Vietnam, including: Anthropic (AI), Meta/WhatsApp (messaging), Neon (database) and Vercel (hosting), in the United States. By using the service you understand that this cross-border processing takes place. We share data with these providers only as processors, to deliver the service — not for their own purposes.

How long we keep it

Conversations are kept only as long as needed to help you and are then automatically deleted within a few days. Aggregate, non-identifying usage statistics (e.g. which bike types are popular, by 2-letter country) may be kept longer to improve the service; these contain no names, message contents or phone numbers.

Your choices

You can ask us to access or delete the data linked to your chat at any time — see Data deletion. You can also stop the conversation at any time.

Security

Connections are encrypted in transit (HTTPS; WhatsApp messages are encrypted between you and WhatsApp). Access to data is limited to what is needed to operate the service.
